State prosecutors have filed a new petition requesting court-ordered forensic interviews of minor children in their ongoing case against Kroy "KJ" Biermann Jr. According to documents obtained by Us, lawyers representing the State of Georgia filed a new motion on Thursday, September 17, asking the court to require "forensic interviews" with unidentified minors.

The state's request comes after KJ, the 15-year-old son of estranged couple Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, in August for aggravated sexual assault and aggravated sodomy after an alleged incident with an unidentified minor victim earlier this year. KJ, who has categorically denied the accusations, has yet to enter a plea.

In their filing, the state claims that they will provide a good faith basis for concern regarding additional minors who may require forensic interviews related to the case. The state also requests that if the court must consider video evidence and receive a proffer by counsel related to potential victims, it should be done in camera or in a closed courtroom, with counsel for the defendant present. This is because the video evidence is explicit in nature and should be reviewed and considered under seal.

This development marks another significant step in the ongoing case against KJ. Earlier this month, he was indicted for aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16. While he has not been arrested for the remaining charges in the indictment, his attorneys have requested to transfer the case to juvenile court, which would prevent him from being tried as an adult. They have also asked to close all hearings to protect the identities and records of the juveniles involved.

A judge ruled to restrict media recording and photography on Thursday, citing concerns about protecting juvenile identities. In accordance with this ruling, any such records shall be filed under seal, and any exhibits admitted at the bond hearing for the court's consideration will conform to the terms of this order.

Following his arrest, prosecutors claimed in court that video footage was found of KJ allegedly engaging in sexual behavior with an underage relative and there were multiple encounters where KJ used predatory and derogatory language toward the unidentified victim. However, KJ's lawyer Jason Sheffield disputed these allegations, stating that the characterizations made in court regarding the prior juvenile matter involving KJ grossly misrepresent both the facts and the ultimate resolution of that case. He added that the matter arose from inappropriate, crude behavior involving two middle-schoolers.
