Only One Bravo Star Maintained Contact with Karen Huger During Jail Sentence

The Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger credits Bravo for standing by her when she went through a lot during her recent jail sentence. Speaking to E! News on August 4, Karen said, “Bravo stood by me when I went through a lot.”

As one of the few friends Karen allowed herself to maintain contact with during her stay in prison, Andy Cohen was instrumental in providing support. "Andy was one of the few people that I allowed to talk to me inside while I was paying my dues, which I needed to do,” she revealed.

Incarcerated for a DUI charge stemming from 2024, Karen served a two-year sentence with one year suspended. After her release in September 2025 – six months ahead of schedule – she returned to RHOP but declined participation in The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th out of concern for overexertion.

At a recent event, Karen shared her thought process behind taking things slowly upon her release: "I thought for my sobriety, ‘Take it slow,’ because I was planning on coming back to season 11." This strategic approach underscores Karen’s commitment to continued healing.

When discussing her place within the show, Karen expressed appreciation for her castmates’ understanding of her priorities: “They were so loving and supportive. You know, we’re messy, so come for me. I can handle it. That’s me.”

Karen's dedication to prioritizing health is evident as she moves forward. If you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse, consider reaching out to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
