Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s Legal Dispute Spawns Another Lawsuit

Former Daily Mail reporter James Vituscka has filed a lawsuit against the newspaper, alleging wrongful termination and retaliation following his involvement in the high-profile legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

According to court documents, Vituscka became embroiled in the case when he discussed the It Ends With Us drama with both parties’ representatives. He asserts that he wanted his own lawyer after being drawn into the case through his reporting but claims the Daily Mail discouraged him from seeking representation and forced him to sign a declaration containing language he didn't agree with.

Vituscka also alleges that his texts appeared in court without full context, drawing him further into the legal dispute. The resulting litigation led to subpoenas for documents and testimony and created a dispute with the Daily Mail over how he should respond.

The Daily Mail denies Vituscka's claims, stating that his allegations are "an inaccurate account" and "unsupported by the facts." In response to the lawsuit, they said the reporter's declaration matched what he had already told senior management and called his claims "entirely meritless and unsupported by the facts."

Vituscka is suing the Daily Mail in Manhattan Supreme Court, bringing claims that include whistleblower retaliation, discrimination, sexual harassment, interference with protected rights, and wrongful termination.
