Judge Denies Ray J's Motion to Dismiss Defamation Lawsuit

Los Angeles Judge has denied Ray J's attempt to have the defamation lawsuit against him thrown out. According to court documents, the judge found that Ray J's statements could reasonably be interpreted as charging Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner with racketeering.

Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner had filed the lawsuit against Ray J, alleging that he made defamatory public statements about them. They claimed that he accused them of being under investigation for racketeering and made other damaging allegations. Ray J had argued that his comments were hypothetical and taken seriously, but the judge disagreed.

In denying the motion, the judge noted that a reasonable person would be offended by a false accusation of committing a crime. The ruling sets a trial date for March 6, 2028.

Howard King, Ray J's lawyer, plans to appeal the decision, saying they will "promptly appeal the ruling which failed to recognize Ray J's first amendment right to publish his opinion about the despicable behavior of Kim Kardashian." This move is expected to delay any potential resolution of the case.

This is the latest development in a long-standing dispute between Ray J and the Kardashian-Jenner family over a sex tape released several years ago.
