Kyle Richards Remains Longest-Standing Consecutive Main Cast Member in RHOBH History
As she gets ready to appear on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th, which premieres on Sunday, Kyle Richards sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss several topics related to the series.
Producers, according to Richards, manipulate drama between cast members. They record intimate conversations and later use them to fuel discussions on camera. Richards recalled an instance where she was asked to bring up a negative story about a colleague, saying, "Someone has to ask them about it. So they may come to me and I'll say, 'You need to get some other sucker to do this. I'm sorry. I've been here too long. I am not bringing that s*it up with her.'"
The real estate mogul also reflected on her time on RHOBH, pointing to her infamous limo scene with sister Kim Richards in season one as her biggest regret. She admitted that watching it even today makes her emotional, and if given the chance, she would handle situations like those more constructively.
When asked about her current situation regarding her marriage to Mauricio Umansky, Richards acknowledged the public's interest and pressure to comment on their relationship status. Despite recognizing it shouldn't affect her decision-making process, Richards confessed that the constant messages and pleas from strangers made her feel guilty for months.
Richards remains committed to her role in RHOBH, having served as the longest-standing consecutive main cast member in franchise history. As she navigates these complex issues both on and off screen, viewers will be eager to see how she handles the challenges ahead.
