Sen. Mitch McConnell Released From Rehabilitation Facility

Senator Mitch McConnell, 84, has been discharged from a rehabilitation facility and is continuing his recovery at home following a weeks-long health challenge. He was previously hospitalized on June 14 after officials found him unconscious at his Washington, D.C., residence.

In a statement, McConnell said: "Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home. Elaine and I are grateful for the many well wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I’ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff."

McConnell's discharge plan includes maintaining an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period and staying engaged with his staff and colleagues on important Senate business. David Popp, his spokesperson, had earlier reported that McConnell was receiving excellent care while hospitalized.

This update follows McConnell’s previous post on July 12, where he shared a hospital photo with his wife, Elaine Chao. McConnell's current term is expected to conclude in January 2027, and he has faced several health concerns in recent years, including a fall resulting in a concussion and broken ribs in March 2023.
