Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador recently found herself in the spotlight after throwing shade at former costar Alexis Bellino following her facelift reveal. The tension between the two housewives dates back to when Shannon's ex-boyfriend, John Janssen, began dating Alexis after their split in January 2023.

Speaking to E! News on September 4, Shannon was asked about her thoughts on Alexis' decision to undergo cosmetic surgery. Her response was laced with sarcasm as she quipped, "Good for her!" before adding, "I hope the marriage stays intact because she might get sued!"

Shannon's remark seemed to be a veiled reference to her own legal troubles with John, who sued her in March 2024 for breach of oral contract and promissory fraud over a loan of $75,000 for cosmetic procedures. According to court documents obtained by People, John claimed that he gave Shannon the money in 2022 and again in May 2023, totaling $40,000 and $35,000 respectively. However, Shannon failed to return the funds despite agreeing to pay him back with interest.

In her interview with E!, Shannon also addressed the controversy surrounding her relationship with John and Alexis, insisting that she had moved on from the drama. When asked if she still had beef with the couple, Shannon replied, "I've moved on." She added, "I don't care."

Their tumultuous past began in January 2023 when John and Shannon broke up after four years of dating. Shortly after, he started dating Alexis, who was previously married to Jim Bellino. As their whirlwind romance unfolded, Alexis returned to RHOC and often butted heads with Shannon in season 18 of the show in 2024.

Alexis confirmed in December 2024 that she would not be returning to the show for the following season. Meanwhile, the drama continued to unfold outside of the cameras as John filed a lawsuit against Shannon in March 2024. The lawsuit ultimately led to a settlement being reached in November 2024.

John's lawyer, Edson K. McClellan, expressed his confidence in the case, stating, "Ms. Beador's defense that Mr. Janssen paid her the $75,000 as a 'gift' is completely meritless, which their emails and text messages will show." He went on to say, "Mr. Janssen is saddened that Ms. Beador's unwillingness to repay the loans made it necessary to file this lawsuit."

When confronted with the allegations, Shannon released a statement through Us, saying, "I am shocked and disappointed that John has a filed a lawsuit. I agreed to pay John what he wanted because I knew that attorneys fees would surpass the amount sought, but more importantly to eliminate the negative emotional components that come with a lawsuit. It is important that I continue to focus on the positive aspects of my life and move forward. John declined the offer because he refused to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement."
