Taylor Strecker Was Almost Cast on RHONJ Before House of Stassi Debut

In a candid interview with Us Weekly ahead of the launch of House of Stassi, Taylor Strecker opened up about her near-miss casting call for The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ).

According to Strecker, she never heard back from the network after a four-hour interview. Her connection to the show came through mutual friend and Jersey resident, Margaret Josephs, who had recommended her for the role.

However, Strecker expressed doubts about her fit within the show's cast, specifically mentioning her conflict with Teresa Giudice. She likened their potential dynamic to "oil and water – I just don’t think it would work."

Strecker credits watching The Real World as a teenager for sparking her interest in reality television, despite initially considering herself a "radio girlie". After growing up and changing careers, Strecker worked on projects including "Radio in the City", an unproduced concept featuring interviews with celebrities, alongside Nicole Ryan.

Upon considering joining Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder's new venture, Strecker highlighted what sets House of Stassi apart: its unique approach to reality TV. “I get the allure of a Housewife, but what we’re doing on House of Stassi is different,” she said.

As a participant in House of Stassi, Strecker has navigated concerns over how her relationships – particularly her marriage to wife Taylor Donohue – might fare under public scrutiny. She acknowledges having initial reservations but suggests her experience on the show may have even fortified her partnership.

Currently streaming on Hulu, House of Stassi marks Taylor Strecker’s entry into mainstream reality television.
