Donatella Versace's return to the creative driver's seat has generated excitement in the fashion industry. After stepping down as chief creative officer of Versace in March 2025, amidst a brand repositioning orchestrated by Capri Holdings, Versace has partnered with Los Angeles-based Revolve Group Inc. on a new independent venture.

This joint venture will encompass both fashion and beauty, reflecting Donatella's "personal creative vision," according to the press release. The new brand is designed around how a new generation discovers style, experiences culture, shops, shares, and connects. Revolve understands the importance of connection in creating culture, as stated by Versace herself. "Revolve understands something I believe deeply: culture comes from connection."

Revolve Group, founded by Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas in 2003, has grown its online offering to feature 1,600 brands across two platforms: Revolve, which showcases established labels, and Fwrd, which highlights emerging ones. In 2025, the company reported $1.23 billion in total revenue and made a splash by announcing joint ventures with pop star Cardi B and influencer Sofia Richie Grainge, marking its entry into the beauty category.

Mente, co-founder and co-CEO of Revolve, notes that "Donatella is one of the defining creative voices of our time." He believes that this partnership provides her with an entirely new platform and the freedom to build something from the ground up. Raissa Gerona, president of brand and partnerships at Revolve, seconds this notion, stating that "Donatella has an extraordinary instinct for what the next generation wants and an unmatched ability to connect fashion with culture. That is what makes this partnership so exciting."

Karanikolas, co-founder and co-CEO of Revolve, concludes that "by combining Donatella's creative authority with Revolve's technology, infrastructure, and global reach, we have an opportunity to create something genuinely distinctive — and build it for the long term." This partnership represents a significant scope and ambition, extending beyond the runway to include entertainment.

The new brand is expected to launch across the United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. The first products are scheduled to be introduced in 2027 together with a name reveal. As part of the project, Donatella aims to speak directly to the next generation through beauty and fashion. She emphasizes the importance of creativity being fearless, inclusive, and alive in the world. "I believe creativity should be fearless, inclusive, and alive in the world. I have always been inspired by the next generation, in music, film, art, and, of course, fashion. This partnership gives me the freedom to speak to that generation in a completely new and personal way, through beauty and fashion."
