Below Deck Mediterranean star Luke Brumer made a dramatic return for the season 11 finale after infamously soiling Nathan Gallagher's sheets with his bodily fluids. The Monday, October 5, episode of the Bravo reality series showed Luke surprising the crew on their final night out, wearing a disguise before reuniting with Chef Joy Lefaucheur.
This reunion seemed to bother Genevieve Lillie, who threw red wine at him. However, Luke left as Joy comforted Gen, but he later contacted Joy again. The pair decided to keep in contact after almost exploring a romance earlier in the season.
As previously reported, Below Deck Med featured a franchise first when Luke previously hooked up with Genevieve in his shared cabin with Nathan. They moved down to Nathan's bed, and Luke finished in the bosun's sheets, which he didn't tell Nathan. To make matters worse, Luke didn't replace Nathan's sheets and continued to let Nathan sleep in a soiled bed.
Nathan expressed his frustration with the situation in a July episode: "I actually get pissed off the more I think about it. It is so disrespectful." He also mentioned that Luke hadn't said anything about the incident in three days and implied that he might take the matter to Captain Sandy if Luke didn't address it himself.
"It's f*ing rude because you disrespected me," Nathan explained. "Now, if you keep up with your job, it's not gonna end, bro. If you piss me off, the slightest amount, you'll be with your bags packed."
Captain Sandy sat Luke down to discuss his indiscretion, saying, "I now have to write a report. This is a serious offense." She planned to "give it some thought" but warned the deckhand that it would still be documented. Luke was "devastated" by the turn of events.
"My career means so much to me. I'm so scared that this could be the end of it for me," he told the cameras. "And for something like this."
Luke ultimately took Captain Sandy aside to express his concerns about Nathan still being furious with him. He thought it would make more sense for him to leave, and his position was filled — twice — throughout the season.
The repercussions of Luke's past actions on the ship were significant. Nathan's feelings towards Luke remained strong, and it caused tension among the crew members. Despite the drama surrounding his departure, Luke chose to leave once again, leaving fans wondering what will happen next.
