Britani Bateman Says Tragedy Changed One Surprising Friendship

During an interview at Warner Bros. Television Group's 78th Primetime Emmy Awards Nominees Celebration on September 13, Britani Bateman opened up about her changing dynamic with castmate Mary Cosby on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

The reality star spoke candidly about how a difficult time helped shift perspectives and bring them closer during Season 7. When asked if their bond felt different, Britani said she "feels like ’s finally not only tolerating me, but she’s starting to love me back.”

Britani initially joined RHOSLC during season 5, and their relationship was marked by tension and awkward moments. Past disagreements, including her use of derogatory terms, contributed to their strained connection. However, everything changed after Mary experienced personal tragedy – the passing of her 23-year-old son, Robert Cosby Jr., in February.

According to Britani, this traumatic experience prompted them to reevaluate what's truly important. She explained, “When we are faced with some of the most challenging things in our lives, we really have to reevaluate what's important and what's not.” Their renewed appreciation for one another has allowed them to heal and build trust once more.

Their journey toward healing was evident during Season 7, when Mary showcased the unwavering support she received from her fellow housewives. In particular, she highlighted the constant care packages, visits, and gestures from her friends, which gave her immense comfort.
