New details have emerged regarding Robert Kelker-Kelly's untimely death, which occurred on October 3 at his Missouri home. A police report has revealed the events leading up to his passing, providing a disturbing insight into his final hours.
According to the report, Kelker-Kelly, who played the iconic character Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, began experiencing severe pain in his chest, neck, and left arm while driving home with his wife, Allison Kelly, from Spirit of St. Louis Airport. The couple had picked up Kelker-Kelly from the airport at around 7:30 p.m., marking the beginning of their drive back to their residence.
In an attempt to alleviate his discomfort, Kelker-Kelly initially declined an offer to visit the hospital, instead opting to lie down upon arrival home. Despite his protests, Allison Kelly asked him whether he wanted to seek medical attention, but he refused, stating that he would rest instead. This decision would prove to be a fateful one.
As they returned home, Kelker-Kelly changed into comfortable clothing before retiring to bed. However, his symptoms persisted, prompting him to request an aspirin from Allison. Just minutes later, she discovered him unresponsive and not breathing, prompting her to immediately call emergency services.
Paramedics from the St. Charles County Ambulance District responded promptly, initiating lifesaving efforts upon their arrival. Tragically, despite their best efforts, Kelker-Kelly succumbed to his condition at 9:09 p.m. Authorities concluded that his death was a sudden medical event, ruling out any suspicious circumstances. The St. Charles County Medical Examiner's Office subsequently determined that no further investigation was necessary.
Allison's statement to investigators provided valuable insights into Kelker-Kelly's health history. She reported that her husband had no known medical conditions and had experienced no serious injuries or surgeries during the preceding year. Additionally, she mentioned that Kelker-Kelly did not regularly smoke cigarettes or use illicit substances, though he occasionally smoked cigars.
Kelker-Kelly's impressive acting career spanned multiple television shows, including Another World and General Hospital. He became synonymous with the role of Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, playing the character from 1992 until 1995 after taking over the role from Peter Reckell. In recent years, he stepped away from acting to pursue a career in aviation. His untimely departure leaves behind a legacy as a beloved actor and devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife, Allison, and daughter, Amelia Rose Kelly.
