Craig Conover, a familiar face from Bravo's reality television show Southern Charm, is taking on a new challenge with the upcoming scripted series Charmed by a Southern Monster. This latest addition to the Bravo franchise features Conover in the lead role of Hunter Caldwell opposite Nicole Mattox as Maeve Marchant. The series premieres on November 9 on the Peacock mobile app.

A New Direction for Conover

Conover has built a reputation as a storyteller on Southern Charm, where he has been a part of the show since its inception. However, this marks his first foray into scripted drama, which presents both exciting opportunities and challenges for the actor. As Deadline reports, the plot follows Maeve, a corporate fixer tasked with persuading Hunter to sell his family's estate. Things become complicated when Maeve discovers that Hunter may be misunderstood rather than dangerous.

The Plot Thickens

As Maeve delves deeper into Hunter's world, she uncovers family secrets and becomes embroiled in a billion-dollar property development deal. Her relationship with Hunter grows more complex, putting their connection at risk. The tension culminates in a confrontation between Maeve and her threatening ex-boyfriend. With romance, mystery, and high-stakes drama, Charmed by a Southern Monster promises to captivate audiences.

A Fresh Venture for Bravo

Bravo's decision to venture into scripted content with Charmed by a Southern Monster indicates a desire to diversify their offerings beyond reality TV. This move also positions the network well for future growth, given the popularity of shows like The Real Housewives franchise. On the heels of Campus Confidential: Miami and Salon Confessionals, another unscripted series featuring Georgia Gay, Charmed by a Southern Monster represents a significant step forward in Bravo's digital expansion.

Connection to Southern Charm Season 12

Just days before the premiere of Charmed by a Southern Monster, viewers will have the opportunity to catch up with Conover again in Southern Charm Season 12. Set to debut on November 12, fans can expect to see Conover navigating personal and professional challenges alongside his castmates. Given his experience on the reality show, it's no surprise that Conover sees this fictional character as an opportunity to explore themes relevant to his own life.
