Andy Cohen Discusses Failed ‘Real Housewives’ Casting in Nashville and Chicago, Tracy Tutor Joining RHOBH

In a recent interview, Andy Cohen shared insights into the challenges behind casting new seasons of "The Real Housewives" series. Producers have been searching for suitable candidates for "The Real Housewives of Nashville" and "The Real Housewives of Chicago," but no ideal group has emerged so far.

"We've cast in Nashville two or three times," Cohen said. "We've cast in Chicago two or three times. We've cast in Greenwich, Connecticut. Meaning we have cast wide nets and put groups of women on camera who could be potential Housewives, but that we've just not found the right groups yet."

Cohen believes future successes will follow suit by targeting unexpected locations. When looking at successful installments like "The Real Housewives of Potomac" and "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City", he noted, "So I think it's going to be more like that."

Tracy Tutor joined the cast of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" this season after appearing on Watch What Happens Live promoting Million Dollar Listing LA. Andy praised her personal story as being both aspirational and authentic, saying, "If the hallmark of being a great 'Real Housewife' is speaking how you feel, she's certainly a bullseye."

Tutor explained why her addition took so long, citing timing issues related to production decisions about Million Dollar Listing LA. "Everything happens in its own time," she stated.

As for his own reality career, Cohen discussed turning down offers to join The Traitors and compete on Dancing With Stars. He acknowledged his past experience producing competition reality TV shows might make him a less desirable candidate: "I don't know who would want me on their cast." His hesitation to appear on DWTS stemmed from a simple reason: "No one wants to see me dance on TV."
